Noise In and As Music Symposium and Book Publication

Noise bookCeReNeM hosted the Noise In And As Music symposium, 4-6 October 2013, organised by Dr Aaron Einbond and Dr Aaron Cassidy. The symposium brought together an international gathering of musicians and researchers engaging with issues of noise, in a programme of paper presentations, installations, and concerts. The keynote was given by Prof. Peter Ablinger.

The weekend also saw the official launch of the book Noise In And As Music, edited by Aaron Cassidy and Aaron Einbond and published by University of Huddersfield Press. The book can be ordered through the University’s online store. The book includes twelve chapters, including contributions from Cassidy and Einbond, and twelve micro-interviews with a diverse collection of noise artists, including a contribution from Pierre Alexandre Tremblay.
