EXAUDI vocal ensemble has been residence at CeReNeM/University of Huddersfield from 28 April to 2 May, supported by a generous grant from the University Research Fund. In addition to extensive rehearsals on works by CeReNeM staff members Aaron Cassidy (PRSF New Music 20×12 commission) and Bryn Harrison (Britten-Pears commission), the group led a vocal workshop with Huddersfield undergraduate singers, a composition workshop with CeReNeM postgraduate composers, and school education/outreach events in composition and choral singing at Huddersfield New College.

James Weeks, conductor and Artistic Director of EXAUDI vocal ensemble, has been keeping a blog about the process of learning, preparing, and rehearsing Aaron Cassidy’s new work, A painter of figures in rooms, commissioned by the PRSF New Music 20×12 programme for the 2012 London Cultural Olympiad.
